Anantnag: Three terrorists killed in encounter

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, S P Pani told New Indian Express that security forces launched a combing and search operation in Hakura area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district last night after receiving information about presence of militants there. Later they were identified as Eesa Fazli of Srinagar, Syed Owais and Sabzar Ahmad Sofi, both belonging to Anantnag district. Mobile internet speeds have also been reduced across the valley. "Fresh dates for the deferred examinations will be notified separately, later", the university's spokesperson said in a statement issued to Mirror.Other schools and colleges in the area have also been closed as a precautionary measure. "Class work at the University of Kashmir shall remain suspended on March 12, 2018 (Monday)".

The fire was responded triggering off a brief exchange of the gunfight, SSP said, adding that the trio was killed in the retaliatory action.

Massive clashes were reported from Anantnag district against the killings of three militants in a gunfight with the government forces earlier today.

Now trains will chug on Badgam-Srinagar- Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir and Banihal in Jammu region. People have turned up in large numbers to attend the last rites of one of the slain militants.
