Apple is expected to release an affordable 13-inch MacBook Air in Q2 2018 says KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo

Currently, the $999 base price of the MacBook Air includes a 1.8GHz dual-core i5 processor, 128GB of storage, and the aforementioned 8GB of RAM.

This doesn't mean that Apple will redesign the MacBook Air. However, the most striking of all information is his claim that Apple is planning a more affordable 13-inch MacBook Air for this year.

The analyst says Apple is planning to release a new MacBook Air "with a lower price tag" for this year. The company is expected to launch the new MacBook Air version sooner than you can imagine.

Of course, this is just one of the many rumors about the fate of the Apple MacBook Air.

The Android Go phone already appears on the company's official USA website, but it's listed as Sold Out for the time being. Meanwhile, Google's own Pixel line superceded Google's Nexus range to serve as the company's own flagship phones.

This news comes from none other than Ming-Chi Kuo, the KGI analyst with a solid track record when it comes to Apple's upcoming releases.

The analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo says the company will launch the 13 Inch MacBook Air with more cheaper price tag compare to what it is now costing.

How much cheaper than $999 this new MacBook Air would be, Kuo doesn't tell us.

MacBook Air, launched by then Apple CEO Steve Jobs at the MacWorld Expo in San Francisco in 2008, has not been updated since 2015 as Apple has shifted focus towards the 12-inch MacBook and MacBook Pro. Apple has already overtaken Asus in global laptop shipments, moving from fifth to fourth position. Report further suggests that the company shipped approx 4.43 million MacBooks in the third quarter of 2017. The report suggests that KGI is "positive" on shipments of AirPods and also predicts that Apple may also bring a refreshed model of its existing Airpods in the second half of the year.
