Report: Trump administration considered Sixers co-owner Josh Harris for a White House job

NBC cited unnamed people familiar with Mueller's investigation, as well as witnesses who have been interviewed by Mueller's team.

Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner are working as senior advisors to the US President.

Mueller's office declined to comment to NBC News for its story. "To suggest otherwise, is inaccurate and false". Trump has repeatedly denied there was any collusion.

Rob Weissman, president of the legal nonprofit Public Citizen, said the news didn't bode well for Kushner.

Meanwhille, Kushner Companies LLC is reportedly seeking more than $1 billion in loans to refinance debt on properties in New York City and Chicago. Among other things, the two discussed a possible White House job for Harris that never came to pass, according to the report.

The Associated Press reported on Friday that the Securities and Exchange Commission dropped its inquiry into Apollo Global Management, the private equity firm, late a year ago after the company had given White House adviser Jared Kushner's family real estate firm a $180 million loan a month earlier.

Some reports on other hand also said that President Trump has told Kushner and his daughter Ivanka that they should remain in their roles. But that company later decided not to invest in the Kushner Companies' building at 666 Fifth Avenue.

Kushner Cos. said in a statement that the implication that Kushner's position in the White House had affected the company's relationships with lenders is "without substantiation".

Qatari officials believe, according to NBC, that Kushner was central to coordinating the Saudi Arabia and UAE-led economic blockade imposed against Qatar. "If Mr. Mueller extends this effort to foreign policy, Mr. Kushner may be in real trouble".

On Tuesday, The Washington Post reported that officials in China, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, and Mexico pinpointed Kushner's senior ranking in the Trump administration, his troubled financial dealings, and his lack of government experience as an opening for political influence. The Post report quoted unnamed USA officials familiar with intelligence reports on the issue.
