Trump tweeted as much Thursday morning, stating armed teachers would serve as a "GREAT DETERRENT".

Crooked Hillary said that I want guns brought into the school classroom.

Trump's remark about a person who "decided not to go in" was addressed at a sheriff's deputy who was stationed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas school when Cruz went on his rampage but failed to respond to the shooting. The president also suggested that teachers who were required to carry guns could be paid a bonus.
