2 Carmel High School students arrested for gun violence threats

Police in West Palm Beach, Florida, arrested a student who had brought two guns to Palm Beach Lakes High School on Thursday. The student was taken into custody by the Louisa County Sheriff's Office within an hour and was charged with a Class 6 felony.

A 15-year old Arkansas City High School student was arrested for saying he would shoot the school up.

The police department at this point does not believe there is a threat to the school, students or others; there have been no specific threats made by this student.

Officials said students alerted the staff about these threats, and they consider them heroes in this situation. Chief Fisher said the student was not arrested and is not facing any charges. "We are proud of our students who let us know what was going on". "As a result of it, detectives did investigate the threat to see if it was credible or not".

"We do have a high absentee rate today", Williams Valley Superintendent Diane M. Niederriter said.

Tuesday, additional security measures were taken at Volcano Vista after a threat online that ended up being for another school in West Virginia.

Three teenagers have been charged and one is expected to be charged in incidents Thursday and Friday at schools in Jefferson and Vernon and at High Point Regional High School in Wantage.

He said the young man's parents were notified in order to meet him at the police station.

The student is being held at the Rankin County Juvenile Detention Center, McGairty said. Then, Monday night, a student at Dakota Ridge High School in Littleton posted a message on Snapchat suggesting a mass killing at school the next day. They declined to identify all of the schools because none of the threats were valid, and to do so could spark unnecessary fear.

The sheriff's department added it planned to place extra deputies on campus and increase patrols around the school on Tuesday.
