The blast follows twin vehicle bombings on January 24 outside a mosque in Benghazi that left almost 40 people dead.

The explosions hit the mosque at the start of weekly prayers in Libya's second city, which lies 1,000km east of Tripoli, a security source told AFP.

A mosque bombing in Libya's second city of Benghazi has killed one person and wounded more than 62 people, the city's hospital has said. "Reports of civilian casualties are deeply concerning", UNSMIL said in a statement.

No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.

"This heinous act should not provide a justification for revenge attacks".

"Turkey attaches importance for peace, security and stability to prevail in Libya and supports Libya's efforts against terrorist groups seeking to drive the country towards chaos", it added.

Rob Gronkowski hints he will mull retirement
Gronkowski came home Monday after the Patriots's 41-33 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles at the U.S. He stormed out of the locker room without answering questions following the loss.

"Direct or indiscriminate attacks against civilians are prohibited under worldwide humanitarian law and constitute war crimes", the mission added, calling for "prompt, impartial investigations to bring perpetrators to justice".

The summary executions are believed to be carried out by Mahmoud al-Werfalli, a special forces commander for the LNA.

Several bombings during the latter stages of the conflict targeted figures linked to Haftar's self-styled Libyan National Army (LNA).

It has since imposed strict military control on the city and other parts of eastern Libya under its control.

Libya has been wracked by violence and divisions since dictator Muammar Gaddafi was toppled and killed in a 2011 NATO-backed uprising.

But staging a vote is a major challenge in a country still split among military and political factions, and where rival governments have claimed authority since the result of a 2014 vote was disputed.
