The big moment - the top graduating high school football players announce their college choice on signing day - was being aired live by ESPN2.

No child wants to let their parents down, but that's exactly what four-star wide receiver Jacob Copeland did to his mother when he committed to Florida on National Signing Day.

When Copeland put on the Florida hat, his mom got up and left without saying a word.

It's the most-talked about signing day stunt of the year.

His mom wasn't a fan of the decision.

What my mama did today was hilarious if you knew her personally that's her job.

Pence pushes S. Korea toward more hawkish N. Korea policy
But Pence is trying to keep the focus on North Korea's threatening behavior and continue to pressure the regime with sanctions. Experts say it's likely North Korea will continue to ignore U.S. demands for it to halt its nuclear and missile programs.

Copeland said he couldn't "go with his mom" and had to "go with his heart".

Copeland was committed to Florida for nearly three months before decommitting on November 25.

Copeland's mother walked off the stage nearly immediately after his decision was announced. "I can't go with my mind, I got to go with my heart".

His mom, seated next to him, was wearing a Tennessee hat and Alabama sweatshirt.

Someone forgot to tell Jacob Copeland's mother that. Later in the afternoon, Copeland tweeted what his mother did was "hilarious".

After he did, she walked off the stage before eventually returning to give him a hug.
