According to the embassy's spokesperson, "The claim of an MFA [Ministry of Foreign Affairs] statement yesterday that U.S. forces struck an Afghan refugee camp in Kurram Agency yesterday is false".

Pakistan's Foreign Office on Wednesday said if NATO-led coalition forces continued with their drone strikes on its soil, cooperation in the fight against terrorism could be affected.

"Two militants from Haqqani network were killed in the drone attack", an intelligence official said on Wednesday.

"Drone strike on 24 Jan was on individual target morphed into Afghan Refugees and not any organised terrorists sanctuary which have been eliminated".

On January 17, in the first drone strike of the year, one man was severely injured in Kurram Agency's Badshah Kot area near the Pak-Afghan border.

Almost 1.4 million Afghan refugees remain in Pakistan, according to UNHCR figures.

It is extremely rare for USA officials to comment on drone operations targeting militants inside Pakistan.

Suspect in custody after Italy, Texas school shooting
Multiple students and a parent told FOX4 the suspect and the victim had been in a relationship, but they had recently broken up. A SHOOTING has taken place in a small town Texas high school today with the shooter suspect in custody and one person injured.

Drone strikes have been an issue between the two for years. "This is the reason we feel repatriation of Afghan refugees is essential".

In reaction to the United States airstrike on Haqqani network leader in North Waziristan, the government of Pakistan has urged the early repatriation of the refugees, claiming that the presence of the refugees provide facilities for the terrorists to find sanctuaries.

Local police chief Ameer Zaman Khan had said that strike took place in Dapa Mamuzai village near Kurram tribal region.

A source close to the Haqqani group confirmed that at least one mid-level Afghan commander had been killed.

Trump has taken a hardline stance on Pakistan, which he says provides safe haven to high-level commanders from the Haqqani network, a group which often conducts deadly attacks in Afghanistan.

Two missiles were reportedly fired from the drone at the house where the commander stayed in Speen Thall area - on the confluence of borders between Hangu district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Orakzai agency.
