One of the best comedies ever is getting its own TV series

The 2014 movie explores the lives of four vampires named Deacon, Viago, Petyr, and Vladislav who all live in the same household in the city of Wellington.

Paranormal Event Response Unit is written by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, and expected to air in New Zealand later this year, after which we'll surely find it on one of the streaming outlets.

This is all terribly wonderful news, and we'll bring you more as we have it. A TV spin-off from the latter has been in the works for a while, and has landed a cast that includes comedy stalwarts Matt Berry, Kayvan Novak, Natasia Demetriou and Harvey Guillen.

Clement and Waititi are executive producing, along with Scott Rudin (The Night Of), Paul Simms (Flight of the Conchords), and Scott Rudin Productions' Garrett Basch and Eli Bush. The duo directed, wrote, and starred in the original film.

Pennsylvania court upholds gerrymandering charge
Pennsylvania was a key Rust Belt state that helped Donald Trump capture the White House in the 2016 presidential election . The special election in the 18th District, scheduled for March is not impacted by this order.

Berry plays a character named Lazslo, a goofy vampire, the type who makes fun of himself by turning into a bat and flying into a wall. Demetriou plays Nadja, the badass female vampire of the house. It's unclear if Clement and Waititi will also have an on-screen role.

Plot details are being kept under wraps but Waititi has previously said the show would be set in the United States rather than Wellington.

What do you guys think of the idea of a What We Do in the Shadows TV series? The film went on to great success on the festival circuit, and it also gained a cult following.
