The 21-year-old WSU QB was found dead in an apparent suicide

Police reported Washington State University quarterback Tyler Hilinski was found dead Tuesday in a Pullman, Washington apartment, according to ESPN.

Hilinski was widely anticipated to be named starting quarterback at WSU this fall. He will serve a two-year term. After missing practice Tuesday, police were alerted and Hilinski was found dead next to the rifle and a suicide note.

'Hilinski, who was 25-of-33 for 240 yards, with three touchdowns and an interception in the game, was mobbed by WSU fans who rushed the field and lifted the redshirt sophomore into the air and carried him off the field, ' reported.

He enrolled at Washington State in January 2015 after attending Upland High School in Southern California.

Cougars head coach Mike Leach released a statement about Hilinski's passing: "We are deeply saddened to hear the news of Tyler's passing". He threw for 1,176 yards seven touchdowns.

Lebanon bans Spielberg's new movie over director's link to Israel
Lebanese director Ziad Doueiri's film " The Attack " was banned as well, which was partially shot in Israel with Israeli actors. But the decision was made entirely on the basis of Spielberg's interactions with Israel, Hanoun said.

Coroner Peter Martin said Thursday in a press release that Hilinski's manner of death was suicide.

"The tragic news today surrounding Tyler Hilinksi is devastating to all". His most memorable outing came in the second week of the season when he led Washington State from a 21-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat Boise State 47-44 in triple overtime. "Earlier tonight, the football team was brought together and informed of the tragedy".

Washington State athletic director John Johnson called Hilinski "a tremendous individual, great friend and teammate". Players were joined by athletic department counselors and mental health professionals.

Across social media, those who knew the Hilinski family, as well as Cougar athletes past and present offered their thoughts and prayers.
