Could Vikings OC Pat Shurmur bring QB Case Keenum to the Giants?

Shurmur can not negotiate or sign with the Giants until his current team are either eliminated from the playoffs or win the Super Bowl, with the Vikings set to visit the Giants' NFC East rivals the Philadelphia Eagles in Philly next week following their astonishing walk-off victory over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday night.

Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs celebrates with offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur following a 29-24 win over the Saints in an National Football League divisional playoff game. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Shurmur is "expected to accept" the job if offered. That could be a while, since the Vikings are still alive in the playoffs.

Keenum is one of three Vikings quarterbacks who will be a free agent after the season, and the 29-year-old might have some interest in following Shurmur to a new team.

Great Britain's Winter Olympics team challenged to secure at least five medals
UK Sport is targeting "at least" five medals at the Winter Olympics , with four to 10 representing the target range. Yarnold, who has struggled this season, has been given a top-eight target for 2018 along with team-mate Laura Deas.

Shurmur's work in Minnesota with quarterback Case Keenum has opened the eyes of the Giants and many teams as the journeyman QB has blossomed into an MVP candidate. That's too much of a risk when the available cap space can be spent on more pressing needs, while Shurmur should be able to make due with Manning, Webb and a top draft pick.

Pat Shurmur may not have been their first choice, or even their second choice, but he will get every opportunity to prove he was the right choice to take over a franchise in disarray following a disastrous 3-13 season. He led the Browns from 2011-12 but was sacked after amassing a 9-23 record. He's not the first Browns coach to post a bad record and probably won't be the last. Shurmur can't negotiate or ink a deal with the Giants before the Vikings season ends. He took over for Shurmur as offensive coordinator in St. Louis after Shurmur took the Browns' head coaching job.

Shurmur, 52, was interviewed by the Giants on January 6, one of six candidates who met with Giants brass this month, including principal owner John Mara and new general manager Dave Gettleman. If the Vikings advance to the Super Bowl, Shurmur would not be available to officially take the Giants job until February 5. The victor will advance to Super Bowl LII, which is set to be held at the Vikings' home of U.S. Bank Stadium next month.
