Bonham Carter was first considered to play the part of Queen Elizabeth, according to the report, but the role instead went to Broadchurch actress Olivia Colman.

If you've watched Seasons 1 and 2 of Netflix's fantastic series "The Crown", you know we are saying goodbye to most of the cast. Bonham Carter is "all but confirmed" to replace actress Vanessa Kirby, who delivered a standout performance this past season as the youngest daughter of King George VI.

Showrunner Morgan spoke about his decision to recast the roles previous year, explaining to Screen Daily: "I feel that when we reach 1963-64 we've gone as far as we can go with Claire Foy without having to do silly things in terms of make-up to make her look older..."

Series creator Peter Morgan reportedly has a six-season plan in place that involves new actors joining the cast every two seasons to play older versions of the characters. "The feelings we all have as 50-year-olds are different than the feelings we all have as 30-year-olds", Morgan explained. Bonham Carter knows how to play misfits, outsiders, and posh upper-crust dwellers-and a multi-episode arc as Princess Margaret would surely be one of her juiciest roles to date.

The Netflix royal drama is near a deal to have Carter take on the role in the upcoming third season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Amazon Lists 18 Unannounced Games For The Nintendo Switch
Amazon has released its list of the best-selling games from 2017, and Nintendo managed to take seven of the top 10 spots. Kirby Star Allies , Metroid Prime 4, Shin Megami Tensei , and the untitled Yoshi game are popular contenders.

Now, if only they would tell us who's playing Prince Philip.

"The Crown" is looking to add another member to its royal family.

One of the dreamiest side effects of The Crown is how it's introduced royal neophytes to the force of nature that was Princess Margaret.

The Crown season 3 will pick up sometime in the 1970s, reportedly spanning Queen Elizabeth II's reign from about 1971 to 1979.
