Russia: US 'Aggressive Rhetoric' on North Korea Fueling Tensions

The Trump administration announced sanctions on Tuesday against two more North Korean officials for their alleged role in Pyongyang's expanding ballistic missiles programme.

"Treasury is targeting leaders of North Korea's ballistic missile programs, as part of our maximum pressure campaign to isolate the DPRK and achieve a fully denuclearized Korean Peninsula", Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin said in the statement, referring to the North by its official name, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

The UN Security Council imposed new sanctions on North Korea on Friday in response to ballistic missile tests.

The department also sanctioned Ri Pyong Chol, who it said was "reported to be a key official" in the development of intercontinental ballistic missiles.

Tensions have escalated after the isolated but nuclear-armed regime staged a series of atomic and intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) tests, most recently on November 28. The report also mentions that Kim Jong-sik is a rocket scientist while Ri Pyong-chol is a former air force general. Following the launch, the nation's leader, Kim Jong Un, said the country could now strike the United States with a missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead.

The sanctions by the Treasury Department mean that any assets the two men hold in the United States can be seized and that Americans are prohibited from dealing with them.

The couple will also be hosting another reception for their friends from film and cricket industry in Mumbai on December 26 at St. After Virat returns from his tour of South Africa, the couple will take up residence in a new home in Worli, Mumbai .

The new measures order North Koreans working overseas to return home within two years, and ban almost 90 per cent of refined petroleum exports to the country.

The US has placed sanctions on two North Korean officials it says have led the development of nuclear missiles.

In response to the United Nations vote, North Korea called the sanctions "an act of war" on Sunday.

Trump habitually refers to Kim as "Little Rocket Man" and has threatened to utterly destroy his regime with "fire and fury".

Both Kim Jong-sik and Ri were blacklisted in the resolution.

Chang said North Korea's use of a gimbal system, that permits each engine to be placed at specific angles, shows new mastery, according to the report.
