There were some pretty aggressive deals on Amazon's Echo devices in recent weeks, and so it's no surprise to hear that the Alexa-enabled hardware sold well, especially when it comes to the low-priced Echo Dot.

Past hardware, Amazon said in one week alone, more than four million people started Prime free trials or began paid memberships. It's also worth noting that Fire TV Stick sales increased by more than 100% year over year.

Customers shopped hundreds of Deals of the Day on Amazon.com throughout the holiday season. "We look forward to another great year ahead". As one quick example, Amazon notes that customers ordered more than 1,400 electronic products per second via mobile devices during the recent holiday shopping season.

More than 6,000 trailers and 32 Amazon Air planes were active in the USA during the holiday season.

A Google spokesperson made a statement regarding its battle with Amazon stating that since Amazon doesn't carry Google products like Chromecast and Google Home, nor does it make Prime Video available for GoogleCast users, Google is no longer supporting YouTube on Echo Show and FireTV, 'given this lack of reciprocity'.

Amazon confirmed today that it sold "tens of millions" of Alexa-enabled products worldwide this holiday season.

The last Prime Now order that was completed in time for Christmas was delivered in 58 minutes at 11:58 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
