The incident happened at the Palin home in Wasilla, Alaska, where Track Palin bloodied his father, Todd, in a dispute over a truck, according to court records.

Police were called to the home Saturday night, after Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee, told police her son was "freaking out" and on some type of medication, according to an affidavit by Wasilla Police Officer Adam LaPointe.

Sarah Palin's son was arrested Sunday for a second time on domestic violence charges. Upon arriving, cops say they found Todd fleeing in a vehicle and bleeding from the face. with Track still inside.

Track Palin then allegedly broke through a window and attacked his father, pummeling him in the head.

No attorney was listed for Palin on the court docket, and no details were given about his bond status.

Palin, 28, was arraigned Sunday morning on three counts: felony burglary, misdemeanour reckless assault and misdemeanour criminal mischief for causing up to $500 in property damage, according to online court records.

The incident is not his first arrest related to domestic violence.

He has remained in jail on Monday in lieu of $5,000 bail. He was charged with assault in the fourth degree, interfering with a domestic violence report, and misconduct involving weapons in the fourth degree.

He took a plea deal that resulted in some of the charges being dismissed, and he pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm while intoxicated, a misdemeanour.
