The Star Wars stickers look to be the most detailed from the promotional videos and images Google has released, while the Stranger Things ones are more cartoon-like in their appearance.

The only devices now running Android 8.1 are Google's Pixel and Pixel 2 phones, so you'll need one of those to get in on the fun.

Referred to as "The Last Jedi AR Stickers", Pixel and Pixel 2 owners can spice things up with a slew of Star Wars cartoonish stormtroopers, AT-AT walkers, R2-D2, BB-8, and even porgs.

Download and install the ARCore app and the AR Stickers app. It's available for Pixel phones and require Android 8.1 Oreo to work - which is in the process of rolling out.

Before venturing into the Google camera app in search of AR Stickers, make sure that you have updated it. Individuals can update their apps through the Google Play Store, under the Update section. After switching to the stickers mode, users can simply select their favourite sticker pack that will give them open access to a plenty of stickers then they can choose one sticker and place them in the scene. Then, you'll be able to start placing stickers in your surroundings, which is as simple as dragging and dropping them.

The Pixel 2 XL also feature always-on display to show you notifications, and the song that is playing on your smartphone. These augmented labels include Strange Things kids and characters of Star Wars. You can move, resize, rotate the stickers, and they interact with other characters in the scene. SmartSelect can recognise addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and more.

Google also promised to release more AR Stickers in the future.

We're also introducing Foodmoji and 3D Text stickers so if you're getting hangry waiting for your friend to turn up to lunch, you can take a picture with a cheeseburger to tell them to hurry up.
