Russian Lawyer Confirms That Trump Jr. Met With Her To Get Dirt On Clinton

Trump Jr. and Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law, attended the meeting with several Russians under the impression that they might receive damaging information about Trump's rival, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Once it became apparent that she did not have meaningful information about Clinton, Trump seemed to lose interest, Veselnitskaya said, and the meeting petered out. In the meantime, Schiff said, the lawyers have asked for more time to decide how to handle the claim. Trump Jr., according to the sources familiar with his testimony, said his communications were limited to the messages exchanged via Twitter and went no further.

This particular discussion revolves around a pivotal meeting, that is where representatives of the Russian government who were portrayed as providing dirt on Hillary Clinton as part of the Russian government effort to help Donald Trump to the campaign, and therefore is a central issue that we need to fully investigate. The statement said the Trump Tower meeting focused on "a program about the adoption of Russian children" that the Kremlin ended after the USA imposed sanctions on Russian oligarchs in 2012.

But Schiff questioned whether that was a valid reason to not tell Congress about the conversations. Goldstone has said he puffed up the language of the original email invitation, the contents of which were dictated to him by Agalarov-whose father is close to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

5 players can be retained
The IPL Governing Council has given teams options which could allow them to retain as many as five of their players. Two new teams, Rising Pune Supergiant and Gujarat Lions squads were introduced to replace the suspended teams.

Veselnitskaya denies ever having such information and wrote in the letter released this week that Trump Jr. misunderstood the objective of the meeting because of Goldstone's "roguish letters" setting it up. Ultimately he settled on: He took the meeting to receive "very high level and sensitive information" that was "part of Russian Federation and its government's support for Mr. Trump". The statement omitted facts about the session with the Russian lawyer, indicating it was primarily about the adoption of Russian children by American families. "Schiff said he didn't think it was a legitimate invocation of attorney-client privilege".

Attorney-client privilege is "a legal privilege that works to keep communications between an attorney and his or her client secret", according to Cornell Law School. "That's not the objective of attorney-client privilege".

This question gets to a pattern legal experts have noticed among key members of the Trump campaign and administration: They continually forget, misstate, mislead or even - in the case of Flynn - lie about their relations with Russian Federation.

"The general rule is that a conversation is *not* privileged if a third person is present for the conversation with an attorney and a client", Mariotti said. If, on the other hand, there were any non-represented parties present for all or part of this conversation then at least that portion of the conversation would not be protected by privilege and could not be revealed or compelled. In either case, it could be some time before the matter is resolved while the rest of the investigation moves forward.
