Nathan Redmond blasts The Sun and defends Pep Guardiola after incident on Wednesday night

This season, Pep Guardiola and his team Manchester City, did not only climb up to the top of the Premier League table but also broke many records.

'Yes he was very passionate, intense and aggressive but he was only very complimentary and positive to me, ' the Saints man told his followers on Twitter.

"I told him I was doing what my manager had asked me to do in the game". It initially appeared Guardiola was confronting Redmond to complain about something but he said afterwards he was complimenting the player. "If people don't believe me, we should cancel the press conference".

"Guardiola commented on my qualities as a young English player and how we wanted me to attack his team more during the game, in a similar way to last season", Redmond said. Guardiola said: "I have played against millions of managers and the different ways they play".

"Losing the game the way we did in the last kick of the game after working so hard for 90+ minutes, I was very disappointed. I did the same after a game in Dortmund and I had regrets then after the game and the same now", he explained.

ARSENAL vs. MANCHESTER UNITED - English Premier League (Round 15)
Arsenal is now in the 4th position in the Premier League with 28 points, 12 behind the league leaders Manchester City. The Red Devils will play 10 games in December as the hectic Christmas schedule returns.

"I think it's a clear penalty, I really do", Howe said.

Guardiola has until December 4 to respond to the English FA's request. "Last season he destroyed us here and I didn't know him".

In the immediate aftermath of Premier League leader City snatching the points through Raheem Sterling's 96th-minute victor, Guardiola approached Redmond on the field and gesticulated in an animated fashion. "I never judge and never will judge the way my opponents play against my team", he added. Never, never in my career and in press conference, on the pitch and off the pitch was I disrespectful about what they do to beat me. We didn't win clearly because it's so complicated when 10 players defend in the box. It's the same as I do to beat them.

"I want to make it absolutely clear Pep Guardiola did not say what the Sun is falsely claiming in this story", Redmond said.

Guardiola faces a tough selection issue for Sunday's visit of struggling with West Ham - with Vincent Kompany, Leroy Sane and Fernandinho all one booking away from a suspension that would rule them out of the Manchester derby a week later.
