"I was always in favour of action in Kashmir and they (LeT) are the biggest force", he said, railing against the fact that "India got them declared as terrorists by partnering with the United States".

The JuD is believed to be the front organisation for the banned LeT which is responsible for carrying out the Mumbai terror attack in 2008.

Saeed, however, said Sharif deserved to be removed for his peace overtures with Indian prime minister Narendra Modi.

A Lahore High Court had recently freed Hafiz Saeed from 10 months of house arrest after Islamabad failed to submit enough proof against him.

Saeed carries a reward of $10 million announced by the USA for his role in terror activities.

Meanwhile, influential Democratic lawmaker Tulsi Gabbard termed as "ridiculous" the release of Hafiz Saeed from house arrest. He said, "I feel sad that a man of his integrity, who has been the chief of the Pakistan Army as well as the President, has praised something like this".

Pervez Musharraf is facing court cases after he returned from five years of self-exile in Dubai to contest the general elections in 2013, which he lost.
