Dozens accuse massage therapists at large franchise of sexual misconduct

Dozens of people have accused massage therapists of sexual misconduct at the largest massage franchise in the United States, according to a Buzzfeed News investigation.

With 24 Massage Envy locations in IN, we wanted to know what laws and regulations are on the books in the state to protect customers.

The woman asked NBC 7 not to disclose her name because she is still embarrassed and emotionally scarred by the alleged rape.

Dainah Craft and her husband have been in the massage business for about 15 years.

Though she'd been to that Massage Envy before, she said she was not previously treated by the therapist who assaulted her.

The therapist she claimed assaulted her is now in prison after pleading guilty to assaulting nine women while employed by Massage Envy, the ABC News story said.

An attorney for the therapist was not available for comment on the allegations.

"I jumped up one point, but then just laid back down because I was still frozen", Kendall said.

The incidents were reported at franchises nationwide, from California to New Jersey.

Atlanta Falcons outlast Buccaneers to win 3rd in a row
The Buccaneers defense is going to have nightmares about Jones until they face the Falcons again on December 18. Sanu botched a fake handoff to Tevin Coleman , but regained control of the ball and hit Jones in the end zone.

She said she knew she couldn't keep quiet.

Kendall said she was getting a couples massage by Marco Rigo, when he put his genitals into her open palm. "Sit in your auto".

She made the call to police after the manager allegedly turned a blind eye to her complaint. "Unfortunately, the temptation of having little or no clothes on in a dark room, for a man that is of questionable character, that might be too much of a temptation for him".

In the paperwork on the Department of Labor and License, it states that a woman received a massage at Massage Envy in 2009 from David Wilson. It is unclear if that revocation was related to the alleged rape.

In a statement, Massage Envy calls the incidents "heartbreaking", adding, "we will never stop reinforcing to our franchisees the importance of a safe environment".

On Monday, shocking accusations came out against the popular spa chain Massage Envy.

After five years, Kandice Martellaro says she can't shake the anger over what happened to her at Massage Envy and how it was handled. "But, we believe that even ONE incident is too many, so we are constantly listening, learning, and evaluating how we can continue to strengthen our policies with respect to handling of these issues".

In response to the more than 180 allegations of sexual assault by employees of Massage Envy, the company says it's not liable - the franchise owners are.
