A number of women have accused U.S. news anchor Charlie Rose of sexual harassment. PBS has terminated its relationship with him. "PBS expects all the producers we work with to provide a workplace where people feel safe and are treated with dignity and respect", PBS said.

Rose hasn't responded to our requests for comment.

They complained that the unwanted advances included lewd phone calls, groping and walking naked in front of them.

But a third woman alleges Rose whispered a sexual innuendo while touching her inappropriately at a work related event. Three women were on the record and five were anonymous.

Reuters could not independently verify the accounts of the women. "Charlie and I worked together, been friends, but when you think about the anguish of those women despite the friendship, you still have to report the news", King said.

"I think things are changing", King said, "and that is a good thing".

"It is systematic and pervasive, and I've been doing a lot of listening and I'm going to continue to do that", she said.

King said she feels "raw" since the story broke.

As opposed to a simple condemnation of Rose, King said, "I'm a variety of emotions". "I'm still trying to sort it out because this is not the man I know, but I'm also clearly on the side of the women who have been very hurt and very damaged by this".

A former intern claims disgraced newsman Charlie Rose once made her watch a graphic sex scene from the film, Secretary.

"It is essential that these women know I hear them and that I deeply apologize for my inappropriate behaviour".

"I am greatly embarrassed". I have behaved insensitively at times, and I accept responsibility for that. I always felt that I was pursuing shared feelings, even though I now realize I was mistaken."PBS fired Rose within hours of the Post article's publication, and CBS suspended Rose in order to conduct its own investigation".

Fellow co-host Nora O'Donnell also denounced Rose without equivocation.

"Monday, your world is one way, and then 24 hours later, Charlie has been suspended and then he was sacked", she said.

The five women who spoke to The Post on condition of anonymity did so over fears of Rose's stature in the media industry.

Rose was seen returning to his NY city apartment last night.

The Washington Post says it gave Rose the opportunity to refute the allegations line by line, but he did not. "They want their life, they want their career", Fortuna said.

Sarah Gordon told NBC News that the incident occurred in 2002, when she was a 21-year-old intern on Charlie Rose.

CBS News also reported Tuesday night that three of its employees accused the 75-year-old Peabody Award victor of misconduct.

"It still isn't easy, it's still very hurtful, it's still very painful", she said.

One of the women who did speak publically worked as one of the veteran journalist's assistants when she was in her early 20s. "It is crushing. I deeply regret not helping them".
