Trump Mocks Franken Over Photo of Him Groping Sleeping Woman

Trump withstood multiple sexual harassment allegations and the release of the vulgar "Access Hollywood" recording to win election. Trump tweeted. "And to think that just last week he was lecturing anyone who would listen about sexual harassment and respect for women".

Meanwhile, 14 women have come forward to accuse Trump of groping, harassing or sexually assaulting them during his career as a real estate developer.

Franken quickly apologized to Tweeden and called for a full investigation of his actions. White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said a couple of weeks ago that those accusers were lying, but Trump faces a defamation lawsuit from one of the women, Summer Zervos, for making just that claim.

The funnyman then brings up Fox News' penchant for avoiding talking about Moore, Donald Trump, or any of the sexual harassers at Fox News.

They also serve a distinct political goal: expanding the focus from alleged sexual actions by a Republican candidate to Democrats as well, effectively making the topic of sexual harassment a bipartisan liability.

In his tweets, Trump focused on the photographic evidence against Franken, suggesting that perhaps worse photos exist. If Senator Franken should lose his seat, why should Judge Roy Moore and President Trump keep theirs? Al Franken (D-MN) forcibly kissed and groped Leeann Tweeden in 2006.

Hillary also said that the President has "disgraced the office".

Implicit in the Trump approach is his and his aides' confidence that he has absorbed the political damage from his own past, while Democrats, who depend heavily on women voters, may have more to lose now.

Zimbabwe is now in turmoil, with President Robert Mugabe under house arrest as a military coup unfolds. Hunting group Safari Club International , which sponsored the meeting in Africa, praised the decision.

In yet another twist in the sexual abuse saga embroiling the U.S., former United States president George H.W. Bush is facing new allegations from a MI woman who said he touched her inappropriately while he was in office at an event in April 1992, CNN reported on Thursday.

Tweeden said Friday that in addition to his public statement, Franken personally apologized to her.

By weighing in on Franken, Trump potentially invites another round of scrutiny over the past accusations of sexual assault that have been levied against him - a risk that a source told CNN earlier this week was partially behind his decision to not comment on the Moore controversy.

And then he alluded to a "Lesley Stahl tape", referring to a 1995 interview with New York Magazine in which Franken - then a writer for Saturday Night Live - discussed a purported skit that involved drugging and raping the CBS News reporter. The reference was included in a 1995 NY magazine article.

Trump could also be asked to testify, although he might have legal grounds to refuse under the separation of powers doctrine, known as "executive priviledge", according to references.

The response came immediately, and from many directions, on social media.

The Alabama Senate candidate has denied the allegations of impropriety and has so far resisted calls to withdraw from the race. "Roy Moore's spent more time chatting up young girls at the mall than Santa Claus". "He still firmly believes that", Sanders told reporters on Thursday, noting, "This is a decision people of Alabama need to make, not the President".
