Miss Universe 1994 Sushmita Sen also congratulated the 21-year-old Manushi Chhillar and tweeted, "India wins Miss World 2017!" She is the first Indian woman to bag the title after Priyanka Chopra won the pageant in 2000.

Minutes after the results were announced, Khattar took to Twitter and said, Congratulations to Manishi Chillar, daughter of Haryana, on becoming Miss World 2017. She has succeeded Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico to become the new beauty queen.

The first runner-up of the pageant, which was held at Sanya, China, was Andrea Meza, of Mexico. And now, ending India's dry spell at the worldwide beauty pageant, Haryana Girl Manushi Chhillar has won the Miss World 2017 crown.

Now, the reports are saying that the Manushi Chhillar won the title proudly. She is a medical student hailing from Haryana. Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra and Diana Hayden were other Indians who have won this prestigious title.
