Watch Trump's Rubio Moment: President Stops Speech For Water Break

President Donald Trump's desperate search for a bottle of water during a speech from the White House on Wednesday - a bottle that ended up being right in front of him - was way too rich of an opportunity for ridicule. It was a move he once mocked Marco Rubio for, and the Florida senator wasted little time in teasing Trump on Twitter.

"They don't have water".

Trump mocked Rubio during a campaign event a year ago for his water drinking on live television, calling him a "total choke artist".

Trump took two sips from the bottle before continuing his speech, but the minor debacle was enough to bring the president's Rubio comments to mind.

Trump was also criticised for drinking Fiji Water, which is bottled in the Pacific island nation, while decrying the trade deficit.

The performance echoed a moment during the Republican response that Senator Marco Rubio delivered to President Barack Obama's 2013 State of the Union Address.

Mr Rubio jokingly tweeted that Mr Trump had to work on his water drinking technique after the live announcement on Thursday. "You know, after watching that, I need a drink", Colbert said. Trump splashed the water around before tossing the bottle behind him on stage.

"It's Rubio!" Trump declared as he held the bottle in the air. "Unbelievable", Trump said in 2016.

"Has to be done in one single motion & eyes should never leave the camera".

"But not bad for his 1st time". In a February 2016 speech, Trump dramatically drank from a water bottle before throwing it away.
