Moore: Allegations 'Hurt Me Personally'

Alabama GOP nominee for Senate Roger Moore

This, even as Moore's would-be Republican colleagues have called on him to quit the race if the allegations were true.

The NRSC did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

"If it's true, the Republican Party doesn't have any place for pedophiles and he should step down immediately", said Josh Holmes, a McConnell confidant and his former chief of staff. "Steve Bannon is responsible", he added about the McConnell foil and former White House chief strategist, for enabling candidates such as Moore who are out of the GOP mainstream.

"The same thing happened to President Trump a few weeks before his election previous year except it was several women making allegations", said Falwell.

Alabama Republican Roy Moore is vehemently denying a Washington Post report alleging decades-old sexual misconduct with minors.

The allegations against Moore - which he has denied - have prompted other Republicans to weigh in.

The question this poll can not really answer is the level of detail about the allegations against Moore that voters absorbed the day they were released - presumably not a lot of Alabamians read the Washington Post - and whether the sheer creepiness of Moore's reported conduct came through.

Moore, now 70, has twice served as Alabama's chief justice.

Under ancient norms and apparently under first century Roman and Jewish law, she said, it was apparently common for girls 12 and older to be betrothed, though practice varied by region, social class and more.

"Women were chattel back then, they were traded - of course they married men who were much older and had multiple wives", the Rev. Amy Butler, senior minister of the interdemoninational Riverside Church in New York City, told the Post.

As of Friday morning, the senators' pictures still appear on the online link to Moore's fundraising appeal.

The outspoken tight end won a Super Bowl with the Patriots previous year , his only season in New England. The man who replaced him in New England this season Dwayne Allen has yet to catch a single pass.

Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore is telling potential donors in a new fundraising pitch that "the forces of evil are on the march in our country".

Moore explained that he rejects calls for him to recuse himself from the Senate race because he "had nothing to do with this". "That's why I must be able to count on the help of God-fearing conservatives like you to stand with me at this critical moment".

Senate candidate Roy Moore's campaign is calling allegations of sexual misconduct "the very definition of fake news and intentional defamation". John McCain, an Arizona Republican and former presidential candidate, said the same Thursday.

"These allegations are completely false and are a desperate political attack by the National Democrat Party and the Washington Post on this campaign", Moore said in a statement.

Zeigler also questioned the truthfulness of the allegation and noted Moore's strong denial.

It continues: "After over 40 years of public service, if any of these allegations were true, they would have been made public long before now".

And the Alabama secretary of state's office reported that it's too late to remove his name from the ballot.

In Washington at least, few Republicans came to Moore's defense in the hours after the report was published.

Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill says Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore's name can not be removed from the ballot this close to the election.

Several Republican legislators, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Sen. There has been buzz, in the 24 hours since the Post story broke, about odd or someone else attempting a write-in bid, but the poll validates concerns that such a candidate could split the GOP vote with Moore.
