The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Ball, Riley and Hill will likely serve 20 days of house arrest at the hotel for the incident and a permanent ban from re-entering the country.

Earlier this week, LaVar told reporters that the situation "ain't that big a deal," but has been uncharacteristically quiet since. "The University is cooperating fully with local authorities on this matter, and we have no further comment at this time".

The punishment for three UCLA players, who are accused of shoplifting in China, is starting to become more clear.

The Chinese government reported the incident to US officials, Chinese foreign ministry officials previously said.

Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott said the conference was directing specifics about what transpired to UCLA.

Hua did not give details of the individuals, who have been identified by the Los Angeles Times as Cody Riley, Jalen Hill and LiAngelo Ball - the brother of Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball.

If tried and convicted, LiAngleo Ball and his teammates could face between three and 10 years in prison.

US, Turkey to resume issuing non-immigrant visas
Turkey may reciprocate that move and partially ease issuance of visas for the USA citizens, a Turkish government source said. Turkey has also been enraged by Washington's support for the Syrian Kurdish YPG militia in the fight against Islamic State.

Van Gundy said. "Missing all that school, and then force-feeding their fans the idea of 'student-athletes.' If it's such a cultural excursion, what is UCLA doing in the Louis Vuitton sunglass section?" "Whether in the United States or overseas, we expect our student-athletes to uphold the highest standards", he added.

News of the incident broke as US President Donald Trump landed in China, part of a trip to five Asian nations.

The three were arrested for reportedly shoplifting from a Louis Vuitton next to the hotel.

The players will not play in Saturday's game against Georgia Tech.

LaVar Ball, his wife Tina and son LaMelo had breakfast with the UCLA team in Shanghai on Wednesday morning.

The family stars in its own reality show on Facebook, "Ball in the Family", and boasts an athletic apparel line, Big Baller Brand.

The players will not play in Saturday's game against Georgia Tech, UCLA Athletics spokeswoman Shana Wilson said.
