Ride-sharing app Uber banned far-right activist Laura Loomer after she complained about Muslim Uber drivers just after a terrorist attack in New York City allegedly involved a former Uber driver.

Gigi hit headlines earlier this year when she posed in a heavily-beaded hijab for the front cover of Vogue Arabia.

A woman who went on a Twitter rant about not being able to find a non-Muslim Uber driver in NY after a suspected terrorist attack there this week will have to find another way to get around.

Loomer, who describes herself on her Twitter page as "an investigative journalist" and a "proud American Jew", posted several anti-Muslim posts on Tuesday and Wednesday following the attack in New York City by a Uzbek national that killed 8.

The horrific attack was carried by a Muslim immigrant Sayfullo Saipov, from Uzbekistan.

The ride-hailing service has previously banned far-right activists from its platform.

Loomer wrote on Twitter that the women were "aimlessly walking around in hijabs", later adding that "you think they'd have the decency" not to go near the area of the attack.

Loomer also retweeted an individual who claimed that they were kicked out of an Uber in September for being Jewish. "Ms. Loomer was banned for violating our Community Guidelines", Uber spokesman Matt Kallman told Reuters.

Laura Loomer, known for her right-wing political activism, had her accounts "deactivated" following multiple incendiary messages aimed at New York's Muslim community.
