WATCH: Chargers' Travis Benjamin runs one of the worst punt returns in NFL history

The Chargers jumped out to a 7-0 lead when Melvin Gordon ripped off an 87-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. For the second-straight week, the Patriots held an opposing quarterback to fewer than 300 yards (212).

After a touchdown pass from Tom Brady to Rob Gronkowski tied the game, the Chargers went three-and-out before forcing a punt. After touching the punt at his own 11-yard line and scooping up the ball at the 8-yard line, Benjamin chose to run backwards to create some separation.

On that return, Travis Benjamin made a boneheaded play, fielding the punt and reversing field all the way back toward his own end zone.

The Patriots wound up winning the match 21 to 13.

Rudy Gobert scored 12 points, and Thabo Sefolosha had 11 points and 12 rebounds for Utah. "We can't continue to do that". Evan Turner and Damian Lillard each scored 13 points, and Ed Davis added 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Trail Blazers.

Fortunately, for Hogan and the Patriots, they have a bye week coming up.

As the Patriots came rushing at him, Benjamin scooped up the ball and ran backward to evade the oncoming Patriots. But the team that was only 2-of-5 within 20 yards of the end zone during last week's victory over the Atlanta Falcons, was only 1-of-4 one week later against the Los Angeles Chargers.

As a result, the Patriots took a 9-7 lead over the Chargers in the second quarter. That was the good news for the Patriots special teams, which overall had a pretty good day in kick coverage.
