The chase comes to an end when an officer hits the back of the boy's vehicle causing him to hit another cruiser. "He took his mother's boyfriend's vehicle last week and so I told her to let him live with me for a week and the first day with me and he steals my auto". Other police cars blocked the vehicle and prevented it from re-entering the road.

Finally, after trying to re-enter the road, the boy and his borrowed auto were unable to make it out of the ditch that had just proven so useful to his roadway theatrics. According to Police Capt. Guy Turner, the boy's auto passed through a toll both before suddenly merging onto the westbound lanes of the Ohio Turnpike. His mother's boyfriend called police. State police picked up the pursuit when the child entered Interstate 80. At that point one trooper was able to make eye contact with the boy and direct him to pull over, but he kept going, according to the police report.

At times reaching speeds of 100 miles per hour.

"I told him, he could've hurt somebody, he could've hurt himself, or he could've been killed, he could've killed somebody else... and you knew you were wrong". The boy responded by shaking his head and stepping on the gas, Reeder said. It ended around 9:45 a.m. after an officer forced the child to crash into a police cruiser.

When the boy wouldn't pull over, Westlake police pursued him for more than 15 miles through two counties.

It was the second time this month the boy stole the family auto.

Amazingly, no one was injured during the high-speed chase. He was found later that day on Interstate 90 with three flat tires.

According to Cleveland.com, the boy made a decision to snatch his mother's boyfriend's auto keys and take off as his sister was in the bathroom.
