It's an Amazon Prime service that uses a smartlock to give delivery drivers access into your home to drop off packages.

Amazon Key, which will become available to Prime members in 37 US cities November 8, enables delivery of products into the homes of customers. When a delivery driver arrives at the house to leave an Amazon package, he or she notifies the homeowner who is away.

The delivery person never actually touches the door or lock, but instead communicates with the Cloud via the Amazon Key app.

And while the service sounds cool enough to some.

Amazon officials must have guessed people might be apprehensive about letting strangers in when they're not home because the company is rolling out a bundle of security features with its new service.

Dustin Pedroia undergoes knee surgery
The team announced that Pedroia's anticipated return will be in approximately seven months. Without Pedroia, utilityman Brock Holt would be the sensible in-house fill-in next year.

The Cloud Cam is a security camera. Amazon's new alternative method for delivery will eventually be coming to more locations throughout the U.S.

Amazon said the key service isn't compatible with any alarm systems, which should be turned off if deliveries are expected. To show just how far a company will go, Amazon has a "Happiness Guarantee" in place, including a dedicated help center that deals with any complaints about the home delivery or if something is damaged during the home delivery.

Selecting in-Home Delivery: Once you're set up with Amazon Key and register your delivery address in the Amazon Key App, the company says you'll see an option for "FREE in-home delivery" when you check out on, if you're buying an eligible Amazon Prime item. I can tell you from first-hand experience, this will not be a persuasive for some people. Amazon doesn't necessarily specify the delivery companies by name, but rather says they are "some of the same professional drivers who you trust to deliver your Amazon orders today". It lets the delivery agent slide in the package when the buyer is not at home. "These individuals are thoroughly vetted, with comprehensive background checks and motor vehicle records reviews".

If you think this idea Amazon has offered to their customers is wild, you are not the only one. Once the delivery is complete and your door is re-locked, your will get a final notification and can watch a video clip of the delivery. The service can be extended to family and friends.
