A suicide bomber killed 32 people including women and children and wounded 41 others when he blew himself up in a Shiite mosque in Kabul on Friday, officials said.

Soon after the blast, he said, security forces reached the area and started evacuating the dead and wounded to hospitals.

President Ashraf Ghani in a statement sent hours after the incident condemned the attacks on Kabul and Ghor mosques and called them inhuman and against the values of Islam.

"The explosion happened when the worshippers were inside the mosque", the Khaama Press quoted Ghor governor's spokesman Abdul Hai Khatibi as saying. Ten attackers were killed in the assault.

Accordning to Pajhwok Afghan News the bomber entered the mosque in Police District 13 of Kabul city and opened fire on worshippers, Kabul Crime Branch chief Gen Mohammad Salim Almas said.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for either attack.
