North Korea warns U.S. could face 'unimaginable' strike

North Korea has warned the United States that it faces an "unimaginable" military strike as tensions continue to mount between the two warring countries.

The "targets" under North Korea's "nose" refer to joint USA and South Korean drills in waters off the Korean Peninsula with the US aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan.

"The US is running amok by introducing under our nose the targets we have set as primary ones", North Korea's state news agency said in a statement.

The North Korean committee also said that Washington has also deployed the nuclear submarine USS Michigan, whose participation has not been officially confirmed. She is the U.S. Navy's biggest warship in Asia with a crew of 5,000.

'The US should expect that it will face an unimaginable strike at an unimaginable time'.

North Korea claimed in its statement that the drill "proves that the US and South Korean puppet authorities are attempting to ignite a war on the Korean peninsula at any cost".

The annual exercises the US and South Korean navies conduct in the spring and summer are usually held in the Sea of Japan, east of the peninsula.

North Korean leader Kim Jong UN, in response, called trump "an old man with dementia".

Since 2008, photographer Eric Lafforgue ventured to North Korea six times.

North Korea's deputy ambassador to the United Nations Kim In Ryong made those comments Monday in a statement to the U.N. General Assembly meeting on nuclear disarmament.

Korea are "dangerous and short-sighted" and that they are more favourable to North Korea rather than the U.S. From November 3 to November 14, the president will make stops in Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam, the Philippines and Hawaii, the White House said Monday.

Tensions have skyrocketed because of North Korea's recent nuclear and missile tests and exchanges of heated rhetoric between US President Donald Trump and North Korea's leadership. "They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen".

A Russian who returned from a visit to Pyongyang has said the regime is preparing to test a missile it believes can reach the United States west coast.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has vowed to take the "highest-level" measures against the United States and Trump threatened to "totally destroy" the North if the U.S. is forced to defend itself and its allies from a missile attack.
