Woman expecting yoga mat, gets $400000 in illegal drugs in mail instead

A woman in SC got quite a surprise after opening a package she thought contained a yoga mat she had ordered, but found almost 20,000 illegal pills valued at $400,000 instead.

In the Rock Hill case, the scheme might have been successful if not for a misspelled street name, which prompted the post office to look up the woman's address and forward it to her new residence, according to the station.

"The dealers weren't as intelligent as they thought they were", Commander Brown added.

Brown said it's common for drugs to be shipped to vacant homes, where someone will wait for the mail carrier and then take the package. "And someone's sitting outside tracking the package waiting for the trucks to make the delivery".

The package is said to have originated from Newport Beach, California but investigators are unsure where they came from.

The woman called police Saturday afternoon, September 30 from her Rock Hill home after opening the box.

Its intelligence chief, Khaled Fawzi, visited the strip in the afternoon and met with Hamdallah and Hamas head Ismail Haniya. Israeli settlements in the West Bank have angered Palestinian leaders and are a sticking point in the peace talks.

Police say the pills are likely to be counterfeit oxycodone from Mexico that were pressed from powder.

Now agents are trying to figure out where the package was really headed.

Neighbor Nicole Riddle was stunned to hear that more than 20,000 oxycodone pills were delivered just doors away from her by mistake.

In August, a Georgia man received a package containing drugs, according to the Milton Herald. He said the box had someone else's name on it, but his correct address in Forsyth, Georgia.

The woman, who asked not to be identified, told NBC Charlotte she had no idea why the pills were shipped to her.
