BJP national president Amit Shah, while flagging off a "Janraksha Yatra" at Kannur in Kerala on Tuesday, also announced "padyatra" (foot march) at all the State capitals against the CPI (M)'s alleged targeting of the workers of the saffron party and questioned Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan over the political violence in the southern state.

After the yatra's launch, Mr Shah marched along with BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan up to Pilathara. Out of more than 120 victims, above 80 murders took place in Kannur, he added.

Meanwhile, the Delhi unit of the party, in an official statement, said that Union Minister Jitendra Singh and party vice-president Shyam Jaju will be part of the Wednesday's protest.

After offering prayers at a temple, Shah met families of the cadres killed.

Besides Shah, union minister Alphons Kannanthanam, MPs Suresh Gopi, Richard Hay, Nalin Kumar Kateel and chief ministers of BJP ruled states would be among those accompanying him. It posted its most spectacular performance in Uttar Pradesh, where Yogi Adityanath was made Chief Minister. The march is expected to travel through the state before culminating in Thiruvananthapuram on October 17.
