Attorney General Jeff Sessions plans to call out campus political correctness and censorship in a Tuesday speech.'Who is to decide what is offensive and what is acceptable what is odious and what is good? he plans to say

The U.S. Justice Department plans to step up efforts to enforce and protect free speech rights on America's college campuses, where protesters have increasingly been silencing speakers they find offensive, Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Tuesday.

The complexity of the free-speech issue was on display as Sessions spoke to an invitation-only crowd at Georgetown University's law school.

In his speech, Sessions lamented American universities "transforming into an echo chamber of political correctness and homogenous thought, a shelter for fragile egos".

Law students and faculty demonstrate at Georgetown University on September 26, 2017, before U.S. Attorney General Jeff Session gives a talk about free speech on college campuses. At one point, Sessions appeared to take a page out of President Donald Trump's book, drawing a weird equivalence between protesters at Middlebury college, and the KKK.

Sessions said he agrees with Trump in opposing the protests.

"I would condemn their actions", Sessions said of the protesting athletes. Then the nation's top law enforcement official condemned the actions of NFL players who protest during the national anthem and defended his boss' right to call for them to be fired.

"In other words, the school favors the heckler's disruptive tactics over the speaker's First Amendment rights", Sessions said.

Immediately, many groups started planning protests and a third of the faculty signed a letter to "condemn the hypocrisy of Attorney General Jeff Sessions speaking about free speech". Sessions said many colleges now have policies "banning disfavored speech".

IPhone 8 Plus teardown reveals it costs around Rs 19000 to manufacture
Along with the iPhone 8 , preorders for the new Watch 3 have also been made available in the listings starting September 22. The screen of the iPhone 8 Plus costs around $52.50 and the layer of Gorilla Glass placed on it costs around $51.

Georgetown Law faculty arrives to take a knee in protest of Sessions' appearance on campus.

After unexpectedly violent protests forced the shutdown of a speech by provocative writer Milo Yiannopoulos at the University of California at Berkeley in February, Trump suggested that federal funding should be withheld if a state flagship school couldn't tolerate free speech. It's protected, and we have to protect it. And since that wasn't enough of a farce, around 130 students were reportedly disinvited from the event in order to guarantee him a sympathetic audience - you know, like people who love open debate and the First Amendment do!

He added, "In this great land, the government does not get to tell you what to think or what to say".

Sessions has regularly faced small groups of protestors outside his speeches around the country, many denouncing his views on criminal justice and policing issues. The Georgetown Law Center allowed in only invited guests who were screened before they were admitted.

"We are committed to upholding the values of academic freedom and serving as a forum for the free exchange of ideas, even when those ideas may be hard, controversial or objectionable to some", spokeswoman Tanya Weinberg said.

On Tuesday, Sessions told an anecdote about how young people at a public college in MI were jailed for distributing copies of the United States Constitution.

The attorney general was not involved deciding which students were invited or excluded from the event, Tanya Weinberg, director of media relations at Georgetown Law, said in a statement. Both policies, she said, are in line with university policy "given limited capacity".
