"I know. You know why, right?"

NBC host Megyn Kelly drew loud cheers from her studio audience Monday when she announced she was "done with politics for now".

"Some fun", she added, "that's what we want to be doing".

CNNMoney also didn't have very kind things to say about the program, which went out of its way on the first episode to distance itself from politics - the arena that was Kelly's bread and butter in her Fox News days. Monday's premiere of Megyn Kelly Today, which began with the Will & Grace peg, featured a friendly segment in which she joked with and hugged fellow Today anchors as well as two giveaways - one to a Will & Grace superfan and the other to Sister Donna Liette, a nun who does charity work in Chicago.

Continuing, Kelly admitted that the hope of the show was to have people share "a laugh, a smile, sometimes a tear, and maybe a little hope to start your day".

Burnham is First Officer on the Shenzhou and is a human who had a Vulcan upbringing, thanks to the Vulcan Sarek. Internally, CBS expects that number to rise as 7-day delayed viewing is taken into account.

After that, Kelly welcomed the stars of NBC's "Will & Grace", which returns to the network Thursday night.

"Now let's get hammered", Kelly said, grinning widely.

If you were expecting Megyn Kelly to pour over Donald Trump's latest tweets on her new morning show on NBC, you've come to the wrong place.

Then she took questions from the audience - the first from a gushing fan: "What's been your greatest joy?" while moving from hosting a nighttime show to hosting a morning show, he wanted to know.

While Kelly comes from a hard news background from her time at Fox News, the tone of her new show, at least early on, feels similar to the light, upbeat vibe of the hour she replaced with elements of "Ellen" and "Live with Kelly and Ryan" thrown in. She then turned to her career as a lawyer, as a TV anchor ("which was good, until it wasn't").
