"Kim Jong-un of North Korea, who is obviously a madman who doesn't mind starving or killing his people, will be tested like never before", Trump tweeted.

Ri Yong Ho, North Korea's foreign minister, said on Saturday that Trump's insults made "our rocket's visit to the entire USA mainland inevitable all the more", according to The Associated Press.

He also mocked Kim Jong-un with a disparaging nickname, saying: "Rocket man is on a suicide mission".

Kim may also be planning the detonation of a powerful hydrogen bomb in the Pacific Ocean, North Korean diplomat Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho said Thursday on the sidelines of a United Nations gathering. "Action is the best option in treating the dotard who, hard of hearing, is uttering only what he wants to say".

Kim earlier this week called Trump "deranged" and said he would "pay dearly" for his threats.

Kim said Trump's remarks "have convinced me, rather than frightening or stopping me, that the path I chose is correct and that it is the one I have to follow to the last".

North Korea's foreign minister later said that could be a hydrogen bomb test in the Pacific Ocean if Kim orders it.

So even if the center of the storm passes offshore, it could still bring blustery weather to the Outer Banks by mid-week. But it said hurricane or tropical storm watches might only stay in effect for a portion of the coast later Sunday.

Experts say this is the first time a North Korean leader has made a direct address to an worldwide audience - and it merits serious and thorough consideration.

Russian Federation has urged "hot heads" to calm down as the United States admitted it felt "challenged" by North Korea's warning that it could test a hydrogen bomb over the Pacific and President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un traded more insults.

"The very reason the DPRK had to possess nuclear weapons is because of the U.S.", Ri said, condemning America's own history with nuclear weapons.

A top North Korean general called Trump's "fire and fury" threats "a load of nonsense" let out by "a guy bereft of reason".

"Whether or not we can put an end to the provocations by North Korea is dependent upon the solidarity of the global community".

"Little Rocket Man" should have been handled a long time ago and vowing he would shield Americans from Kim.

Meanwhile, the White House on Thursday night took the another step in its so-called "peaceful pressure" campaign to rein in Pyongyang's nuclear programme, expanding sanctions on North Korea and those who do business with the country.

"And I think the initiative stand with the United States and South Korea to lessen the tensions by opening up a channel for a negotiation process".
