A spokesman for the Secret Service confirmed that its agents were responding to an unattended package along the North Fence of the White House.

The White House in Washington, D.C. was put on lockdown Tuesday and the North Lawn was evacuated after the discovery of an unattended package, officials say.

According to The Hill, following the lockdown, Lafayette Square, across Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House, was also closed to pedestrians.

According to initial reports, the Secret Service has sent everyone including mediapersons to the briefing room, immediately.

A poster advertising the group on Facebook's campus ahead of the election read " Trump Supporters Welcome". One main problem here is that Facebook isn't clarifying what the offensive content in question was.

The incident came shortly after a different suspicions package was found at 1:10 p.m. on the Rotunda steps of the U.S. Capitol. Capitol police have reportedly arrested a man for "unlawful entry" onto the premises.

US President Donald Trump is now not at the White House. The president was traveling to Arizona for a visit to the border and a rally. It was the first of two reports of suspicious packages downtown.
