Nebraka's handsome at this time of year anyway.

A total solar eclipse is an incredible thing - something I deeply believe should be experienced by adults and children alike.

I took Monica, my oldest daughter, out of school that morning, where she was 10 years old in fifth-grade.

The nation's first total solar eclipse since 1979 and the first to cross from the West Coast to the East Coast since 1918, the 2017 eclipse will cross from OR to SC and "the path of totality" along the way will be up to 70 wiles wide. I'm excited that it's here except I'm operating on that day. She remembers the drive up, seeing a bunny up at the park, a bit about the eclipse, and that we ate some fast food on the way back.

On Aug. 21, millions of people in the USA will see day turn to night as a total solar eclipse passes over North America.

The path of totality spans the USA, starting in OR and moving eastward to SC in the course of about 90 minutes. During the middle of the eclipse, 72 percent of the sun will be blocked.

"And the effect will depend heavily on local weather".

If you were to simply sit in one place and wait for a total solar eclipse to happen, you would have to wait, on average, about 375 years.

Some of the places AAS recommends to shop online are EclipseGlasses.com, Celestron, Explore Scientific and Meade Instruments.

So what's the big deal about the path of totality?

When the moon passes between Earth and the sun, and scores a bull's-eye by completely blotting out the sunlight, that's a total solar eclipse. At present, such solar PV operations provide 0.8 percent of the total US electricity generation.

Saker is now the Baggy Green's fast-bowling coach and is set to face his old employers this summer. At stumps on day one of the Old Trafford Test, England were positioned 260 for six.

Those who want to view the eclipse will need specialized glasses to protect their eyes from the harmful rays of the sun.

If you want to hang out with other astronomy buffs - both nerds and novices - several area libraries are hosting programs.

EIA said during the eclipse, generators in the area will need to increase their output to account for diminished solar capacity.

Dague is headed to Greenville, S.C., for the eclipse.

"As a mother of three young boys, I want them to see and remember the eclipse for the rest of their lives, but I also want them to know that the danger of improperly viewing it can not be overestimated".

Eyes up, protective glasses on - this summer, Minnesotans will get a chance to see a partial eclipse of the sun.

Officials say it is unsafe to wear eclipse glasses while driving.

My plan is to go out with some friends for a long lunch at a restaurant with an outdoor patio. Be sure to look down in the shade of a tree during the eclipse. In fact, it might be a good idea to make reservations in advance!

MTSU's event, which will be held in the green space in front of the new Science Building, will include a music stage featuring student bands from Match Records, the student label in the College of Media and Entertainment, from 11 a.m.to 12:30 p.m.; self-guided tours of the three-building Science Corridor of Innovation; and various science-information tents on the grounds with activities run by our faculty.

On Monday, August 21 the sun, moon and Earth will line up in an act of cosmic serendipity that will turn day across the 2,680-mile width of the United States.
