Apple already has a software 'fix' for the iPhone 8's worst problem

Since the HomePod's firmware went live, developers Steve Troughton-Smith and Guilherme Rambo have been busy examining the software for items of interest.

According to reports, the iPhone 8 could also be the first Apple smartphone to offer a facial-scanning feature to verify a person's identity and allow them access to the device's software.

Folks digging around in the HomePod firmware have also said that there might be a massive jump in visuals thanks to the new iPhone screen, as much as the iPhone 4 retina display jumped over the original iPhone.

Since the HomePod isn't slated for release till December, it is unclear whether Apple wanted the firmware out there early or leaked it by accident. And if so, will it be released this September as an expensive alternative to the putative iPhone 7S, or does Apple have different plans entirely?

Elsewhere in the code, developers discovered what appears to be a new icon for the next iPhone-the company has a different image for each phone it produces-shaped like numerous leaked images and mockups that have appeared to date. The iPhone 8 might be able to tell right away. With the help of facial recognition sensors, iPhone 8 users do not need to use passcodes or fingerprints to unlock their smartphones. The iPhone 8 is expected to have a large cut-out area to house the speaker, camera and 3D sensing facial recognition hardware.

After Dujana, six top terrorists on hit list
One or two more terrorists were reportedly trapped in the encounter along with Dujana and Lilhaari. An encounter broke out between the holed up militants and security forces early today.

Apple's HomePod smart speaker will operate on the company's own iOS, yet it won't bolster outsider applications or augmentations as indicated by firmware posted on the web.

While Troughton-Smith also found reference to a tap-to-wake function, one big question coming out of these rumors is if there will be any way to unlock the handset without looking at it.

This only confirms the various leaks we have seen over the past few weeks about the upcoming iPhone 8.

Such leaks need to be taken with a pinch of salt as they could simply be holding icons or deliberate misdirection by Apple.

Apple representatives did not respond immediately to CNET's request for comment, and CNET has not indepedently verified the code snippets in question.
