Microsoft announces huge bug bounty rewards for security flaws

Microsoft launches Windows bug bounty program with rewards ranging from $500 to $250,000

Microsoft launches Windows bug bounty program with rewards ranging from $500 to $250,000

The Windows Bounty Program, however, encompasses Windows 10 and even the Windows Insider Preview, the company's program for testing Windows 10 preview builds. Interested users can find out more information on the official page and read over the rules of the Windows Bounty Program.

That is not to say that the bug bounty programs specifically focused on any of these areas will be terminated - they will not.

Microsoft has added to its suite of bug bounties by launching its Windows bounty program that targets security holes in its Windows 10 Insider Preview slow ring.

Bounty payouts will range from $500 to $250,000. For starters, if a Microsoft employee spots an issue first, the company will still offer an award to the first person outside the company who details it - but it will only be 10 percent of the maximum amount offered, meaning it only goes up to $25,000.

Chlorinated chicken could be an issue in UK-US trade relations
Fox said he will release a report on July 25 that details the USA -U.K. trade relationship in every US congressional district. Donald Trump said that he would back a "very, very big" trade deal between the two countries.

"All security bugs are important to us and we request you report all security bugs", the company explains.

Microsoft is rolling out a program to compensate security researchers that uncover vulnerabilities in software related to Windows 10, with payouts reaching up to $250,000.

Microsoft is also remodeling their Hyper-V Bounty Program to substantially increase their maximum payouts, in order to better compete with the prices found for those vulnerabilities on the black market, and to more appropriately compensate developers for finding issues. The second highest reward of $200,000 will be available for those focusing on Mitigation Bypass, however it will only be limited to Windows 10. Payouts for discovering Windows Insider Preview bugs will range from $500 to $15,000. Nevertheless, Microsoft will benefit from the bug reporting alone, as it can then design a fix to enhance the security of its products. Rewarding security researchers with bounties costs lesser as compared to paying for a serious security mix-up.
