Police distributed photos of Wrousis that show him looking dishevelled.

They described him as being about 1 meter 90 centimeters tall (6.2 feet) and said he is now partly bald and unkempt.

The town, located near the German border, has been put under lockdown as authorities hunt for the suspect. Police said Wrousis has been a CSS customer, and they believe his attack specifically targeted the company. In a statement, they said they do not even have a rough idea where he is, and admitted that he may have fled the country.

A helicopter and dogs were used to scour the area for any trace of the alleged suspect, who has two previous convictions for weapons offences.

Christina Wettstein, a spokesperson for the insurance company CSS, said two of the company's employees were injured, one seriously.

Police official Ravi Landolt identified the suspected perpetrator as Franz Wrousis.

Seeing the denizen with its enormous, tentacle-like appendages makes me think it's inspired by the deep ones of H.P. The answer, sadly, is no, but at least we have Eleven and the rest of the gang to look forward to on October 27.

"We have information that this man is risky, that he is aggressive and, shall we say, psychologically disturbed", Landolt added. They have undergone surgery, she said, and their lives are no longer at risk. Ruedi Karrer - the president of Uhwiesen, a town less than two miles from Schaffhausen - told 20 Minuten that Wrousis stayed in the nearby forest for about two weeks before the attack.

They did not say what was inside the van, which had registration plates from Graubuenden, or elaborate on its condition. Police cordoned off the area and ordered people to leave.

Police have distributed photos of the presumed attacker.

The manhunt involving roughly 100 police officers is being carried out by Schaffhausen authorities and supported by forces from Zurich as well as Germany, police said.

The border to Germany is located a few miles north of where the attack took place and an worldwide arrest warrant has been issued.
