The best playback singer award was grabbed by Amit Mishra for Bulleya from "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil".

The 18th edition of the awards ceremony that celebrates the achievements of Bollywood in different cities across the world is a three-day extravaganza that started from July 13 and is being held at the iconic MetLife Stadium in NY. In which "Neerja" named the best picture and received the award of the 2017 International Indian Film Academy (IIFA).

Except this Bollywood on-screen character Saif Ali Khan and film maker executive Karan Johar hosted the event.

Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt were named Best Actors at the 18th edition of the IIFA Awards, for their remarkable work in "Udta Punjab" on Saturday. Tulsi Kumar and Kanika Kapoor shared the Best Playback Singer (Female) honour for Airlift and Udta Punjab respectively.

Rounding up the trio of serious- minded films was Pink, a movie about sexual violence against women, which got Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury the Best Director award. In the mean time, Shakun Batra and Ayesha Devitre Dhillon left with the honor for Best Story.

In the Best Supporting Actor category, Shabana Azmi and Anupam Kher were honoured for Neerja and M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story; Varun Dhawan was lauded for his comic timing in Dishoom; and Disha Patani was encouraged with an award for her debut movie M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story. However, it was not all smooth-sailing for the duo as the audience booed at them several times during the show at the jam-packed MetLife stadium.

She even pulled her co-star Varun Dhawan on to the stage to dance with her.

Actress Katrina Kaif took the stage and grooved on songs like "Afghan jalebi", "Galti se mistake", "Dhoom machale" and "Kaala chashma".
