'I don't think this is the right time but the answer is yes, I would, ' when asked if he would extend such an invitation to the Russian leader.

Asked Friday about Akhmetshin, a spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin said "We don't know anything about this person", the Associated Press also reported.

Krauthammer, a Fox News contributor, wrote that he has always been a skeptic of charges of collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government, but that he was "open to empirical evidence".

The lobbyist is suspected by some American officials of maintaining ties to Russian intelligence, but he denied such ties to NBC.

The revelation has ramped up the ever-growing Russian scandal surrounding Donald Trump and, according to one analyst, increased his odds of being impeached.

"Do these most recent developments, which suggest that key Trump advisers, including his son Donald Trump Jr. and son-in-law Jared Kushner met with a Russian lawyer (who had previously lobbied in Washington against the 2012 Magnitsky sanctions act), change the potential for impeachment?"

Veselnitskaya has denied having ties to the Russian government. The meeting was set up through Rob Goldstone, a British publicist, who promised Trump Jr. Browder was among the first to publicly identify Akhmetshin Friday morning after an NBC News report that said that network had learned the identity of a second Russian advocate in the meeting with Trump Jr. and top aides to the Trump campaign. Russian Federation denies meddling, and Trump says there was no collusion.

Sinkhole in Pasco County swallowing houses; began as pool-sized hole
During a press conference Friday afternoon, county officials said they didn't know when it was going to stop growing. Smaller holes are common, though they have been known to damage and even destroy entire homes.

Lawmakers from both parties have called on Trump Jr.to testify about the meeting.

The White House did not immediately respond to CNBC's request to comment. He accepted the meeting on the premise that he would be offered damaging information about Hillary Clinton.

The correspondence showed Mr Trump Jr was told Russian figures wanted to meet to pass on negative information about Democrat Hilary Clinton.

A Russian-American lobbyist also attended a meeting previous year that has embroiled President Donald Trump's son in the Russia inquiry, it has emerged.

Mr Agalarov worked with Donald Trump Snr on staging the Miss Universe pageant in Moscow in 2013.

The president's legal team has said he was not aware of and did not attend the meeting. In the above MSNBC report, Donald Trump Jr.'s attorney, Alan Futerfas, is revealed to have confirmed that that a sixth person, described by Futerfas as a translator, attended the meeting as well.
