Police in Florida say tennis star Venus Williams was at fault for a auto crash June 9 that led to the death of the passenger in the other vehicle two weeks later.

Major Paul Rogers, Palm Beach Gardens police spokesman, told The Palm Beach Post he could not comment on whether Williams is facing charges as it is an active investigation.

Barson's wife, who was driving the other vehicle, reportedly told police she was approaching the intersection westbound when Williams' SUV darted into the intersection.

Police said Williams, a seven-time Grand Slam victor, was at fault because she violated the other driver's right of way.

"The driver of [the Toyota] is at fault for violating the right of way of [the Hyundai]", the report said.

State-run aircraft maker Antonov told Reuters it's also been hit , although it didn't clarify how bad the situation was. Journalist Christian Borys stated on Twitter that banks, postal services, and airports, among others , were hit.

"Many vehicular manslaughter cases involve allegations that the drivers was intoxicated".

The crash report says neither drugs nor alcohol were involved.

The tennis great blamed the crash on heavy traffic that left her vehicle jutting out into the intersection, according to the report. The website TMZ reported that Williams was found at fault, but it was unclear if she was cited. Barson's wife was reportedly also hospitalized for injuries, including broken bones. The report says Williams was driving an estimated speed of 5 miles per hour.

Her license was suspended on May 8, 2013, for failure to pay fines.

Williams, 37, was not impaired or distracted, according to the report.
