Google wants to help you find jobs without leaving search

Google For Jobs

Google For Jobs

On Thursday, the company rolled out a new search feature, "Google for Jobs", to make the hassle of finding a job a little bit easier.

Google representatives told TechCrunch that they are trying to avoid stepping on anyone's toes (hence the need to go to the source website when applying), but that it hopes that its new system will encourage companies to share more pertinent information when listing new job openings.

It must be noted that Google itself are not starting a job search portal, but merely refining and sorting jobs posted on the biggest to the smallest of job portals. You don't need to visit different websites and search for a ideal job by now, Google is here with its new venture to help the public seeking an appropriate job. It will enable its users to find jobs from nearly every major online job portals, which includes Monster, CareerBuilder, LinkedIn, DirectEmployers, WayUp, etc. Additionally, the results contain Glassdoor and Indeed ratings for companies.

The main objective of this feature is to allow those in need of a job to more easily see available jobs. With just a click of a finger you can look for jobs either in your jurisdiction by typing in "jobs near me" or look for them categorically.

Chances are you have visited one of those sites when you were looking through postings.

Google has invested a great deal of time, effort and resources to enhance its machine learning for job search capabilities over the past year, Pichai noted, pointing to last year's introduction of a Google Jobs API, a vertical machine learning model.

This week, Google took the wraps off Google Jobs, and it's simply the best and most thorough job search on the entire internet. The search results aim at streamlining such listing by eradicating unauthentic jobs posted on different sites.

Two words that bring up thoughts of a long drawn out process including signing up on multiple job sites, filtering jobs based on your criteria and if that isn't enough, some companies even refuse to post job listing on such sites forcing you to browse through their websites.

Its worth noting that Google is not using details about you that it already knows for this process.
