Google gets musical to celebrate filmmaker Oskar Fischinger

And while Google's Doodle is wonderful, it's not almost as impressive as Fischinger's original work.

To mark the day, the search engine invites you to make your own visual music composition. Oskar Fischinger made over 50 short films and painted around 800 canvases that find a place in museums, galleries and collections across the globe.

Not only was Fischinger behind the effects on several movies, including Fritz Lang's 1929 Woman in the Moon, he invented the Lumigraph, a device that generates chromatic displays with hand movements.

The doodle also opens with a Fischinger's famous quote: "Music is not limited to the world of sound". Each dot represents a musical note that when combined form a musical composition that is played on a loop. He is best known for his ability to combine impeccably synchronized abstract visuals with musical accompaniment, each frame carefully drawn or photographed by hand. In the world of design Oskar Fischinger is a towering figure especially in the field of motion graphics and animation. Fischinger is said to have spent months and maybe even years, handcrafting and planning out his works of animation.

Spanish state prosecutor accuses Jose Mourinho of tax fraud
Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano also agreed a one-year suspended sentence with authorities for tax fraud last year. According to the Daily Record , the tax fraud allegations levelled against Ronaldo have been known about for some time.

It was in 1936 that Paramount brought Fischinger to Hollywood but did not allow him to continue his work in color film, and his tenure at the studio was short.

Oskar Fischinger's work in Hollywood did not come without difficulty as he often received little to no profits for his works due to the way the studios were run and had a hard time accepting any adjustment to his contributions.

It became Fischinger's final major piece, as he never again received the necessary funding to create another film before his death in 1967.
