She said after taking the pills, "I told Mr. Cosby that I had trouble seeing him".

Cosby denies a charge of sexual assault.

Bill Cosby's trial for sexual assault opened June 5, 2017 in Pennsylvania with tearful testimony from one of his alleged accusers as prosecutors painted the megastar turned pariah as a sexual predator who established trust with younger women before incapacitating them with drugs and wine. Constand's case is the only one in which Cosby has been charged.

Standing at a podium, the lawyer painstakingly reviewed Constand's phone records and police statements, hoping to show she changed her mind about the date of the alleged assault and gave authorities an incomplete picture of her friendship with the TV star.

Constand, an athletic 6-footer with dark curly hair, was calm and direct as she testified, frequently speaking straight to the jury. While her deposition from that lawsuit remains sealed, it is clear that Constand is using her day in court to fully describe the assault she allegedly suffered at the hands of the iconic comedian. According to reports, Cosby watched Constand's testimony with his "head in his hands", shook his head, looked "glum", and "rolled his eyes".

The defense says the relationship with Constand was consensual. That night he offered her three blue pills, saying they were her "friends" and would let her "relax".

She said she took two sips of the tea, nibbled the top of the muffin and left.

Tuesday's testimony from Constand was also the first time she had spoken publicly about Cosby, due to the terms of a confidential 2006 settlement preventing her from doing so.

Constand said she first met Cosby in late 2002 at a women's basketball game at Temple University in Philadelphia, after being introduced by a donor.

Ms Constand says she later awoke from her drug-induced slumber to find his hands groping her breasts and his fingers penetrating her.

Constand confirmed this was true, but said that at the time she made the claim, she had been trying to access her phone records from Temple University, her employer, to pin down when the alleged assault occurred.

The sexual assault trial of Bill Cosby is underway, and his accuser will return to the witness stand today to continue cross examination from the entertainer's lawyers. She also said Cosby was mentoring her for a career in sports broadcast.

What's more, Constand's seemingly suggestive behavior toward Cosby was brought into question.

Agrusa has suggested that Constand once enjoyed a romantic dinner by the fire at Cosby's home before the alleged assault. That's when she said he made an advance that made her feel uncomfortable, placing his hand on the button of her trousers, trying to unbutton it, she said. "I wanted it to stop", she said during questioning by Montgomery County, Pa., Deputy District Attorney Kristen Feden, according to Deadline.

Aggravated indecent assault carries a potential maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. But there she was, making an appearance unexpected by all, perhaps especially by Montgomery County Court Judge Steven T. O'Neill, who would chastise prosecution lawyers at day's end for not giving him forewarning. Shortly after, Constand remembers feeling "frozen", slurring her words, and experiencing blurred vision. She is expected to testify later this week. She asked if they were herbal or natural; he assured her the pills were "her friends". She revealed that they had been in constant touch to discuss about the renovations of several facilities given to the basketball team.
