Tennessee Bureau of Investigation shows the arrest of the two Georgia fugitives Donnie Rowe and Ricky Dubose

Donnie Rowe and Ricky Dubose were taken into custody after authorities spotted a vehicle reported stolen after a home invasion in Shelbyville around 6 p.m.

Authorities have located both of their weapons from the crash site and turned them over to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Mark Gwyn, director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, said in the news conference. The rear of the vehicle was equipped with a caged area where inmates were secured, with the guards in a separate compartment at the front.

"We've got Moore County involved, Bedford County and Rutherford County". Founded in 1846, AP has covered all the major news events of the past 165 years, providing high-quality, informed reporting of everything from wars and elections to championship games and royal weddings.

"I saw two brutally murdered corrections officers, that's what I saw", said Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills recalling what he saw on the bus.

Rowe and Dubose are accused of killing two Georgia prison guards on a bus before fleeing in a stolen truck earlier this week, prompting a massive manhunt. "I am grateful to everybody and thankful to God himself for minimizing any further harm to anyone". They ultimately left the truck in Tennessee and stole a white sedan, which they abandoned near the hostages' home, Swing said.

Authorities say two escaped inmates from Georgia have been captured after a foot chase in Rutherford County Thursday evening.

On Thursday, Dubose and Rowe crashed a stolen vehicle after a high-speed chase with police. Some police cars followed them while others stayed back blocking the highway. They made their way to another home, but police say this time the homeowner held them at gunpoint with help from a neighbor after they tried to steal the homeowner's vehicle. With help from a neighbor, the man held the two escapees at gunpoint until law enforcement arrived to arrest them. Investigators shared an image of them spread-eagled and shirtless, face-down and handcuffed on a concrete slab, before they were taken to the Rutherford County jail.

US -backed Iraqi forces have been battling the extremists in Mosul, the country's second largest city, since October. Geddo said the UNHCR opened its 13th camp two weeks ago to accommodate the growing numbers of people fleeing Mosul.

"Protocol is to have two armed corrections officers on the bus, but the officers don't wear bullet-proof vests during transfers", Corrections Commissioner Greg Dozier said.

Hale said he realized he had two ex-cons wanted for murder who just fired at law enforcement and had nothing to lose, but for some reason, they started to surrender and laid down on their stomachs in his driveway, where they were arrested by responding authorities. "We will do everything in our power to support their loved ones, and we will not forget their sacrifice and service".

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said on Twitter that they had been captured and the state's governor indicated that they had been detained in the neighbouring state of Tennessee.

The corrections officers killed were identified as 42 year-old Christopher Monica and 58 year-old Curtis Billue.

The two men were cellmates and friends in prison, and may have planned their escape; however, the bus ride Tuesday morning was unscheduled, officials said.

The officers were killed in a state prison transport bus along Georgia 16 in Putnam County and Sills was among the first at the scene.

That's when the escaped inmates left the vehicle and fled the area on foot - but were later captured at a home.
