CBSE Class 10 2017 results declared pass percentage dips to 5

Students from a number of schools in Ghaziabad got a high Cumulative Grade Points Average (CGPA) score in the class 10 results declared on Saturday afternoon by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). CBSE Class 10 result region-wise will be available for all 10 regions, namely, Ajmer, Panchkula, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Allahabad, Dehradun, Delhi, Guwahati, Bhubaneswar and Patna.

As opposed to last year's 96.21 per cent, this year, 90.95 per cent of candidates have qualified after sitting the CBSE Class X board examination.

A total of 3,67,699 students appeared from Delhi for the exams held in March, out of which 2,87,147 students have cleared it. Suggesting that the dip in pass percentage from last year's 91.76 to this year's 78.09 was alarming, school principals across the Capital expressed surprise. CBSE Board made a decision to scrap moderation marks this year. Similarly, the passing percentage of students who appeared in the board-based exams is approximately 95. Comparatively schools registering for the examinations were also increasing annually. On the fall in the pass percentage this year, Soumya Gupta, director at the directorate of education, said, "We will have to examine what is going on".

The results of Class 10th board examination of 2017 would be declared by the UP Board on June 9,2017.
